Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society
We are the student chapter of The Wildlife Society (TWS). The Society's mission is to inspire, empower, and enable wildlife professionals to sustain wildlife populations and habitats through science-based management and conservation.
As a student group, we focus on professionally-relevant technical training opportunities for our student members (e.g., banding ducks with local agencies, conducting waterfowl bag checks, owl and goshawk surveys, assisting DNR with winter checks of hibernating black bears, etc.). We also focus on preparing students for a career in wildlife managent. Lastly, we engage professionals at the annual meeting of Minnesota Chapter of The Wildlife Society and at the Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference. Our chapter members attend scientific talks, participate in networking and training events, and present the results of undergraduate research projects. Anyone interested in wildlife conservation is invited to join!
